Eric Besenius

Scientific Collaborator, LIROMS

Eric Besenius holds a Diploma in Sports Sciences from the Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken (Germany). His Diploma work was based on the assessment of physiological performance parameters in athletes and has been presented at different conferences and under scientific abstract form.


He was first appointed as a research project assistant at the University of Basel (Switzerland), before joining the Sports Medicine Research Laboratory of the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH, formerly known as CRP-Santé) in 2014, focusing in research on sports injury prevention with the  Luxembourgish army and elite sports, as well as research in sudden cardiac events in sports.  

 

In 2019, he joined the Luxembourg Institute for Research in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Science (LIROMS) as a scientific collaborator, concentrating further on research in injury preventions, sudden cardiac events in sports and running biomechanics. At the same time, he joined the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) as sport scientist focusing on performance diagnostics, as well as the Luxembourg Institute for High Performance in Sports (LIHPS) as performance services coordinator working with Luxembourg’s elite athletes.
