Prof Dr Jan Cabri

Jan Cabri has a Bachelor (1982) and Masters (1984) degree in Physical Therapy. He received his PhD in Physical Therapy and Motor Rehabilitation Sciences in 1989 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). He was appointed associate professor in sports medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in 1992. From 1996 to 2009 he was a visiting professor at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Human Kinetics (Portugal). From 2009 to 2014 he acted as the Head of the Department of Physical Performance at the Norwegian School of Sport and Physical Sciences (Norway) where he was a professor in biomechanics until 2019. Presently, he is the director of research at the Luxembourg Institute of Research in Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine and Science and closely involved in the Laboratory of Human Motion.

He teaches anatomy, biomechanics and research methodology. His research interests are mainly in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, applied sports biomechanics and kinesiologic electromyography. He published 170 scientific papers and edited chapters in 14 books. He is the Secretary of the Scientific Board of the European College of Sports Science and a member of the World Commission of Sport Science, Science and Football Steering Group. Furthermore, he serves as the Section editor in the European Journal of Sport Science.
