Andréas Tamang

Biomechanical engineer, LIROMS

Mr. Tamang studied sport and exercise sciences at the University of Poitiers, France, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Adapted Physical Activity and Health in 2022. He also completed a University Diploma "Sport et Cancer". He subsequently worked as an Adapted Physical Activity instructor in physical medicine and rehabilitation centers for both adults and children in Bordeaux and Chantilly, before completing his Master's degree in Engineering and Ergonomics of Physical Activity at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne in 2025.

Mr. Tamang started working as a Biomechanical Engineer at the Luxembourg Institute of Research in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Science (LIROMS) in 2025. He is responsiblefor conducting the tests in the Human Motion Lab (Eich) for gait, jump and running assessments for patients in adult and paediatric neurology, orthopaedic conditions and rare bone diseases. He also drafts clinical biomechanical reports for patients following ACL reconstruction and with rare bone diseases. He also participated in the biomechanical assessment of high-level and Olympic athletes in collaboration with the Luxembourg Institute of high Performance in Sports.

His scientific work focuses on movement analysis, knee biomechanics and adapted physical activity, with a particular interest in post-ACL reconstruction rehabilitation and neurological gait disorders. He has presented his work at several national and international congresses in the fields of rehabilitation, sports medicine and movement analysis.
