This study identified concomitant meniscal lesions in two thirds of all ACL reconstructions. Fifty in ACL-injured knees and an improved understanding of ACL injury mechanisms. 50 percent of them involved the biomechanically relevant, but previously often undiagnosed lesions of the medial meniscus ramp or the lateral meniscus posterior root. These findings highlight the need for a thorough and systematic inspection of the menisci.
